Join us for Lez Craft Nights at the Archives

Lesbians AND crafts? What more could you want? In honor of the Lesbian Herstory Archives’ 50th anniversary some craft-loving volunteers began hosting weekly craft nights for folks to meet in small groups to gather, craft, and chat. Each night is assigned a theme to give everyone inspiration, but as far as crafting goes, there are no limits to what people can make. Some of our past themes have been Valentine’s Day love-letter writing, vision-boards and collaging, fiber arts “Stitch and Bitch”, zines and bookbinding, and Bring Your Own Crafts. Every Thursday from 6:30 to 9:30 (check the calendar to sign up), we welcome a handful of visitors to spend time in the archive, doing one of the things Lesbians do best, CRAFT! We wanted to draw on a long and rich history of Lesbian crafters, and continue that tradition with a night for Dyke craft-lovers.

After seven weeks of Lez Craft, we have had a number of regular crafters who come, and more new faces every week. Lez Craft has been host to new and old friends of the archive, lovers, friends, and Dykes from all around the world. Lez Craft is a space for Dykes and their friends to be creative without judgment, to be in community with one another, and to find inspiration in the archive! We will continue to host Lez Craft nights in celebration of the Archives’ 50th year around the sun! If you are interested in attending, tickets go live on Friday’s at 10:00AM for next week’s craft night. We hope to see you there!
