While we’re on the subject of wearing clothes and adornments that help assert aspects of your identity and politics, earlier this spring Harper’s Bazaar included some imagery from our collection and also interviewed Archives Coordinator Maxine Wolfe for an article on feminist t-shirts.

Here’s one of the quotes from Maxine included in the article:

“People wonder why we would save T-shirts. Most people, when they think about politics, they don’t think about T-shirts. But I think that [making or wearing T-shirts] is one of those things that people have been doing forever as a way of creating an identity and being visible.”
